The Southern Lion (南獅) Dance was originated from China, which dates back to the Third Century B.C, and is traditionally regarded as a guardian creature. Southern Lions (南獅) are symbolic creatures, performing to summon luck, prosperity and fortune. The Southern Lion has a fresco of coloration with large eyes and mouth, and a short fur coat. The Holy animal is believed to hold a statutory position amongst the divine creatures and gods, with the ability to bless and bring good fortune and luck.
When performed, the lion dance wards off “evil” spirits, thus inviting for all good things: health, happiness, wealth and prosperity. The lion dance can be performed at all kinds of celebrations: from weddings, birthdays, ceremonies, on-stage performances and business openings, especially popular during the Chinese Lunar New Year Celebrations.
A careful demonstration of the stylized movements of the Lion Dance is performed by a skilled performer, with basics of the Chinese Martial Arts. Performances are meticulously synchronized with the rhythmic drum beats, gongs and cymbals percussions.

A convivial and jovial performance consists of two Southern Lion (南獅) Twins, being guided by the famous Prosperity Big-Head Mascot. The Twin Lions works a variety of dance movements, encompassed by the percussions of drums, gongs and cymbals.
This symbolic gesture portrays the twins playing with each other, spreading joy, laughter and fun to the occasion. The Prosperity Big-Head Mascot will in turn entertain the audience with cheerful expressions.
This performance array is suitable for centre-stage performances, off and on stage, as well as welcoming of guests and VIPs.
This is an Award winning spectacular performance where the Southern Lion (南獅) leaps on high-poles of heights as tall as 3-metres.
This ecstatic drama can be performed by a Single or Twin Southern Lions. Acrobatic performers perform breath-taking stunts on top of the high-poles to mimic the slick movements as the Lion climbs the poles in search of picking the green (or “qing”). Performance is meticulously choreographed with the ensémble of the drums and percussions.
Xin Cheng is one of the few troupes in Singapore that are capable to perform this defying performance with Twin Southern Lions. This electrifying display is suitable for arenas, on and off stages with sufficient floor space and ceiling height.

This astonishing display brings back an ancient tradition of a Southern Lion (南獅) conquering a peak or apex, portraying power and ability to reach great heights. Acrobats perform a disposition of maneuvers and stunts and finally climbing to the peak of a pole, as long as up to 5-metres. A green (or “qing”) is stretched at the top of the pole as the Lion reaches for it.
This display is very popular for business openings as well as staged performances. This is a definite Audience attraction, with the scintillating stunts and movements.

A popular tradition of the Southern Lions (南獅) Green Picking, or in Mandarin, known as “Chai Qing”. The “Green” (or “Qing”) encompasses of Fruits: like Mandarin Oranges, Pineapples and Vegetables, symbolizing Auspiciousness and Prosperity, served on a Red tray. The Lion Dance begins with maneuvering in vivacious movements before consuming the “green”. In return for the generosity, the Lion will in turn present Auspicious Chinese Characters: symbolizing goodwill, luck or fortune, or Lucky numbers.
The procedures can be made with more excitement and amusement with the “Green” being hung up to a height of approximately 2-metres. The performers will display stunts in attempt to reach the “Green”. All these symbolizing the abundance of capacity to reach greater heights, with good luck and fortune.
The performance is the most popular of Lion Dancing displays, and is suitable for any types of occasions and celebrations.

Xin Cheng is the only provider of this exclusive display of one-hundred Southern Lions (南獅) parade. This grand array of Lions, with the splendid assortment of colors and designs, forms a beautiful view from afar.
Mostly suitable for grand openings, parade exhibitions or special events like Chingay celebrations. Do sincerely note that a vast amount of land space is required for this.

This performance encompasses the use of Ultra-Violet lightings that projects a luminous outlook onto the Southern Lions, all these performed in darkness.
This cast can be done using a single or twin Lions, ranging performances from floor displays, “Chai Qing” performances, and high-pole demonstrations.
Xin Cheng was the First and Only in Singapore to have performed a Ultra-Violet lighting display with Twin Lions leaping on the high-poles of heights up to 3-metres, all these in pitch black darkness. Truly an extraordinary and amazing feat, which may require indoor facilities and sufficient floor space for the Ultra-Violet effects.
